Singapore: Must-See Guide
So Singapore and I go waaay back. (I mean literally, I was born there.) It's seriously such an awesome one of a kind places and recently, it's been getting more of a popular for people wanting to visit! I've been asked a lot for recommendations and lists of things to do, so here is a super list of my "Must-Sees!"
1. Clarke Quay & Boat Quay: TONS of clubs + restaurants + bars along the river! This is a main hang out spot and it's always packed every night of the week. (Note that Ladie's Night is on Wednesdays so that's extra wild.)
2. Sentosa Island: This little beach island is beautiful and has everything from nice sandy beaches, clear water, beach volleyball, to beach bars. There is even a rope bridge that you can cross to get to an even smaller island (the rope bridge is totally instagram worthy!) Sentosa is super easy to get to either taking the Sentosa Express train.
3. Duxton Hill: A cutesy neighborhood of restaurants, stores, and bars. It's a very trendy/upscale area that has some awesome outdoor seating and lights. It's a total cool happy hour vibes. (One of my favorite restaurants Lucha Loco is here.)
4. Haji Lane: is a can't miss. --Listerally because the whole place is this is covered with amazing murals and art along the walls. This trendy and hipster area is full of cute hippy shops and clothing boutiques. In between your shopping, you can pose in front of one of the many graffiti walls, which make for great instagram backdrops. At night, the restaurants bring out the chairs and tables into the streets and the string lights make for an awesome atmosphere. And they usually have live music playing!
5. Cloud Forest: This is a must-see when you're in Singapore! The cloud forest has the largest indoor waterfall and is overflowing with beautiful plants. It puts every other "botanical garden" to shame. As you climb around the high walkways that rise up towards the glass ceilings, you're just in awe the natural beauty that surrounds you from all sides. There simply isn't anything like it.
6. Super Trees: The super trees are located by Gardens by the Bay, right outside the cloud forest. These amazing architectural structures are beautiful during the day and night. At nighttime they light up and every night at 9PM there's a light show that goes along with music!
7. Singapore Flyer: If you're doing the cloud forest or the super trees you might as well bop on next door to the singapore flyer. For $50 SGD you can get a 30 minute ride around the ferris wheel and get a 360 view of the city!
8. Chinese Gardens: If you find yourself this away from the main city, then it’s worth the visit. I lived in Jurong East, and my apartment was just a short 5 minute walk. There is a lake and numerous trails that loop through the gardens. It was my favorite running spot - and makes for a pretty walk and picnic spot.
Singapore is one of my favorite places and there is so much to do! It's definitely hard to decide which sites to see or activities to do because realistically you might be on a tight time frame. So if you have more questions or want a more narrowed down list, feel free to comment or message me!
