I've landed in Rome and I'm excited for a jam packed weekend of Rome-ing* around.

I was really looking forward to home-cooked meals and seeing familiar faces, which is why I am excited to be staying the weekend with my Uncle Ken and Tita Maria. Asides from receiving great hospitality, the alternative was staying in a hostel...so I was very blessed to have friends in the right places.Uncle Ken's place is litterally right in the center of Rome, so once I dropped my bag off I headed off to explore the Colosseum! (which is walking distance). I met up with Caroline, Khafre, Haley and Chelsea.

The Colosseum in all its majestic beauty was incredible, but there was only one thing that was agonizing me...the heat. It was SO unbelievably hot. After swimming around the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in my sweat--it was time to find a bus and head back for a cool shower and dinner. Being in Rome for the weekend, I've educated myself on the Roman bus system.

#1. Bus tickets aren’t sold at the ticket boxes, but at the tabacco stands or in the train station

#2.Completely disregard #1 on where to buy tickets because buses are free.

#3. Lastly, and related to #2, just make sure to get off before the Romans in blue uniforms get on to check bus tickets.

I took the bus all over Rome. Bus stops were everywhere, and it was easy and convenient to jump on one and ride it down a few miles then hop off. However, if you choose the righteous path and ignore my recommendations. then bus tickets are 1.50 Euro each.
