Phi Phi Islands: Getting There
John and I were planning our trip to the Phi Phi Island and were looking at numerous tour options. Being the spontanenous or rather last minute planners we are--it was two days before. Right before purchasing, John suggested that we pay just $10.00 more to get the VIP tickets. We thought about it and decided - hell why not.
Let me just start off my saying: best. ten. dollars. ever. spent. And then quickly follow up with saying: John is the smartest human to ever live I owe him everything.
The VIP tickets came with a private air conditioned room with leather reclining seats, coffee, soda, snacks and a TV playing Mr. Bean. We walked in at one point and a guy literally handed us coconuts with bendy straws for drinking. Literally so perfect.
The one thing distinguishing us from the peasants was our green colored sticker which we stuck onto our phones. But I guess in order to really explain how great this $10.00 purchase was I should describe what the alternative was.
Asides from having a lame colored sticker, everyone outside of our luxe room was packed like sardines in plastic chairs-- in the heat. Literally, it was rows and rows of just plastic chairs and people sitting shoulder to shoulder with their bags squished around them. I just know that if John and I were sitting out there, both of us would've been burned to a crisp, uncomfortable, and hot!!
Meanwhile, John and I would go explore different decks, enjoy the views and get some sun!
And when we felt the heat was getting too much-- we could head back to our private air conditioned room and resume our screening of Mr. Bean in lounging chairs.
Needless to say, best $10.00 I ever spent. So if you're planning an excursion to Phi Phi from Phuket highly recommend choosing the VIP option for any tour package. You really have no idea how far that $10 will take you. Oh, did i mention they gave us snacks?
