Boracay Challenge

The sun is shining, the and the ocean is calling! Me sav and shay are happy to answer and

we were in the ocean on paddle boards by 9 am! After we got our excerise paddling around, we linked up our boards, laid out & tanned! It's really a hard life living on the beach, tanning and drinking. Did I mention our hotel does happy hour all day? Buy on get one. a whopping 130 pesos for a cocktail. Less than 3 dollars.

Nick and I went parasailing in the afternoon and we got the most incredible view of Boracay! Given my fear of heights, I had a minor freak out when we were at the very very top and I realized how fricken high we were. Once i stopped hyperventalating, I could focus on the view. Boracay looked just as beautiful from a hundred feet in the air.

Mom and Dad were on the boat at the bottom cheering us on and laughing when the boat driver purposefully dumped us in the water.

We had another family dinner on the beach with seafood galore! Savannah and Shay loved the oysters and clams! Nothing beats a beautiful sunset with great cocktails & great company.

After, we ventured to find the party. Our hotel is in Station 2 which is the happening-busy-party part of the island. (Station 1 & 3 is less busy & more secluded.)

Being in station 2 there was no shortage of parties or places blasting music and offering cheap drink deals. We landed at Coco Bar that had fun neon lights, pumping music and advertised a Boracay Challenge: 5 "exotic" shots in 11 seconds.

Nick and I thought it would be a great idea to attempt it. We should've known this was a bad idea when the bartender wouldnt disclose what was in each of the shots.

The bartender rang the bell & Nick was off. He got halfway through the shots before getting sick at number 3. I was up next and given my competitive nature....I sped through them and finished the fifth right at 10.29 seconds! CHAMPION!! As much as I'd love to bask in my glory, flaunt my winnings to the peasants & stand on the bar banging my fists against my chest---I was face down in a bucket.

Let me explain what "exotic shots" entails....

#1 baileys lime juice & grenadine #2 vodka & lime juice #3 tequila & tobasco #4 kahlua & coke #5 rum rumplemints & tabasco...

Literally, the shots were just meant to make you sick. All I have to show for myself is a high five from the bartender, an XL T-shirt and a 100 second snapchat of me puking…. So much for glory. You'd think my friends would be holding my hair back or rubbing my back. Nope. Shaydah was holding her phone snapchatting me and my bucket. So much for best friend?

Savannah and Shay opted out of the challenge and probably had more fun documenting our demise.. Hopefully the next time me and Nick get the bright idea to sign up for some drinking challenge, we’ll refer back to this post.
