Thailand Food Guide

Iā€™m a total foodie and really all that means is i love to eat. Thai food is up there in the top 5 favorite cuisines and it's a go-to for delivery. So being in Thailand, i was determined to get my fill of true authentic Thai food! Our town of Kata wasn't very developed, therefore the restaurants weren't on exactly on Yelp. The best way for us to find some grub was to just walk around the streets, browse the menus and spot the places that had the most people. (Which was the indicator that the place was good!)

Our first night in Thailand, we were starving upon arrival so before even looking at the menu we told the waitor we would like: spring rolls and beers to start!

Dinner the second day was pineapple shrimp fried rice. literally. SO. GOOD. and now one of my all time favorite foods!!! The fried rice had chunks of pineapple in it and was so flavorful! plus the pineapple bowl made for nice pics.

When we were at Phi Phi Island, we ate at a big round table with a few other couples that were on the tour with us. (When John and I talk about this day, he loves to bring up how I scolded him for spinning the Lazy Susan around too quickly...) Whether this is true or not is still under investigation. Regardless, the food was awesome and had some seafood options for me too!

One of the days at Karon Beach, when we needed a break from tanning, we ventured out to find a snack. We came across an ice cream stall that wasn't your usual ice cream shop. They had this intricate way of pouring the milk/cream/toppings and crushing flat onto a metal sheet. (This type of ice cream making has recently become really popular from viral videos on facebook.) It would freeze and then be scraped up, rolled and served in a cup! It was so delicious!!!

Our last meal in Thailand ,we of course had to get seafood pad thai! it was so bomb. We enjoyed our last meal in a popular food center area in our little town of Kata. In the town center, there were stalls that were selling little trinkets, cloths and shirts.

Can you see the spring rolls trend? We got spring rolls at every place we ate!! It just felt like the right thing to do. Needless to say, Thailand did not disappoint in the food category!
